Jobs and Future Job Outlook

Are you wondering about the current economic situation?  Worried about the future outlook of the job market for yourself or for your loved ones? The good news is that many experts believe that the economy is already in the process of recovery!  According to the Wall Street Journal, new job growth will occur at the end of this year or in 2010.  The author of this article believes that many people’s fears about the economy’s current state are overblown and that almost every measure of the economy suggests a strong recovery in our near future.

So, now that you’ve heard the good news, what is your next step? You should be thinking about how you’re going to prepare yourself for the growing job opportunities that are sure to pop up in the near future.  As the economy is just beginning to recover, you may still be seeing a lull in the unemployment rate. This is a great time for you to start building up your resume by adding new experiences and skills! One great way to build your resume and expand your experience is by seeking out seasonal, temporary, or part time employment. Using an agency or a job search agent to help you find entry level jobs is a great way to expose yourself to many different job environments, make contacts at different companies, learn about future jobs and job opportunities, and add experience to your resume.  You may decide to try your hand in retail, office work, or manufacturing! This is also a wonderful way to help you determine the career that you would like to pursue, and learn what you might need to do in order to follow that career path.

Another way to build your skills is by furthering your education. By taking some courses or earning an online degree, you will boost your earning potential greatly and give yourself an edge over the competition!  Also, it is always a good idea to pick up some education and skills in an area that you know is experiencing job growth. For example, one of the biggest and fastest-growing industries today is the Healthcare and M edical Services Industry. Although there are many positions in this industry that require little or no training, it is helpful to earn a degree or certification so that you can earn a higher salary. You may even try to find an entry level position in this field, such as a record technician or a coding specialist, in order to get your foot in the door now. From there, you can decide if you would like to seek further training or education in the field or work your way up towards a different career.

There are many other job categories that will be experiencing growth in the coming years. For example, there are many opportunities in the Warehouse industry. Job projections and statistics from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics predict that many jobs that will experience future growth include manual laborers, such as cement masons and concrete finishers, service technicians, painters, construction and maintenance workers.  Job growth is also expected for administrative professionals, such as secretaries, administrative assistants, office workers and information specialists, and skilled workers such as plumbers, commercial drivers, aircraft mechanics, and vehicle service technicians.

Don’t forget that with the many changes in technology, as well as our use of natural resources, many new jobs and positions will be opening up as well.  There will undoubtedly be opportunities in the renewable energy industry, which is still picking up momentum in research and advancements.  The Apollo Alliance is an organization that is striving to develop clean energy and put millions of Americans to work in the process.

Wherever your interests lie, there is sure to be an opportunity waiting for you.  Take the time now to prepare for the future, and your job outlook will always be bright!
