The Value of a Telecommuting Job
A telecommuting job is work that you can do from the comfort and privacy of your own home. Surprisingly, many top companies like to employ people who work out of their own home offices. Often, they are able to pay a somewhat smaller salary and home workers are often willing – and able – to work much longer hours. They don’t “watch the clock” because they’re already at home.
Obviously, a telecommuting position is the ultimate local job. You can perform your work without ever traveling more than a few feet, say from your bedroom each morning to your well-equipped (hopefully) home office. And, while you may not realize it right now, there are a wide variety of telecommute jobs available – all of the time.
You can work at home (as a full time employee with benefits) in a professional capacity – accountant … attorney … high-level administrator … writer … commercial artist … and many more top level jobs, as well. Or … you can serve a company as a salaried or commissioned sales representative … as a typist … or even as a customer service representative. There are many more jobs available at this level, too.
Importantly, companies that hire telecommuters are frequently flexible about the hours they want a home worker to provide. It can be thirty-five or forty hours (a full work week) … or it can be as little as twenty hours per week, sometimes even less (and then it becomes a part-time telecommuting job). You need to decide how many hours you want to work before you start looking. Then, you can narrow your search and not waste time needlessly.
Here’s more good news. It’s easy – very easy – to look for a good telecommuting job. You can do it right on your computer. Currently, there are many “marketplace” websites that allow you free access and provide listings of jobs that may interest you. This may surprise you, as well, but many of these jobs are being made available by very legitimate and well-known corporations and that means you can work for a top company without ever leaving home.
If you find a job that interests you on an online “marketplace,” you’ll be given a link to the actual company that is seeking to hire a telecommuter and, most of the time you’ll be able to apply for the job right at that time – online at your potential employer’s own website.
It really doesn’t get any easier than that. In the new 21st century marketplace, you can find a terrific job, with a good salary and a boss you appreciate while you’re still in your pajamas. And once you get the job, you can “go to work” daily in those same pajamas.
It’s a good deal that probably can’t get any better. Go for it. Begin accessing online marketplaces today. Once you find the job you want, apply for it. Chances are great that you’ll be hired. Enjoy the experience.
